The aXGate by SSA Plugins is a specialized noise gate and downward expander designed for Ambisonic audio signals. It provides precise dynamic control while preserving the spatial integrity of Higher Order Ambisonic sound scenes. This ensures that gating or expansion does not interfere with the delicate balance and positioning of sounds within the immersive audio environment.

The plugin offers comprehensive control over dynamics with parameters such as input gain, output make-up gain, threshold, ratio, knee width, attack, and release times. Users can select between RMS or peak detection to tailor the gating behavior to their material. A gain reduction display provides real-time visual feedback, helping to fine-tune the effect without compromising the spatial characteristics of the audio.

Available in three versions supporting different Ambisonic orders, the aXGate accommodates first, third, and seventh-order Ambisonic formats, making it suitable for a range of immersive audio applications.
