Apricot is a compact hybrid synthesizer designed to deliver a powerful and expansive sound. It features two main oscillators with six subtractive waveforms, modulatable phase offset, and panorama controls, complemented by a unison mode inspired by the supersaw. An additional third oscillator serves as a sub-oscillator with simplified parameters. The synth includes a sample layer with 44 factory samples across various categories and allows users to import their own samples for further customization.
The modulation system is extensive, offering two modulation envelopes and two LFOs, each with dedicated modulation slots, alongside a matrix providing 16 total modulation slots. Users have access to over 70 modulation destinations and more than 10 sources, enabling intricate sound design. Apricot also includes five effects such as reverb with multiple algorithms, ping-pong delay, stereo phaser, parameter EQ, and a distortion unit modeled after the Virus synthesizer’s asymmetric distortion. Additional features include wavefolding algorithms, an arpeggiator, sequencer, and a multi-mode filter with various slope and mode options, enhanced by resonance, key tracking, and drive controls.
The interface is streamlined into a single scalable page, supporting sizes from 100% to 200%, with a template available for creating custom skins. The factory ROM bank offers over 90 built-in patches accessible through a patch browser. Apricot fully supports the CLAP plugin API and is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms, including support for both Intel and Apple Silicon processors. It integrates seamlessly with popular DAWs like Bitwig, REAPER, and FL Studio, offering features such as polyphonic modulation and glide support without any copy protection or DRM restrictions.
