Analog Channel consists of two plug-ins designed to bring authentic analog warmth to digital audio processing. The first, AC101, simulates analog channel amplifier circuits, functioning as a digital pre-amp that allows for high gain levels without introducing harsh digital distortion. Users can shape the saturation and compression characteristics through a drive control and fine-tune the attack and release times of the distortion, giving precise control over the tonal qualities and dynamic response.
The second plug-in, AC202, emulates analog tape machines with detailed modeling of classic tape parameters such as bias, playback speed, and IEC equalization standards. Beyond the typical reel-to-reel features, AC202 offers additional controls like adjustable low frequency roll-off and head bump that operate independently from playback speed. Users can choose among various playback head types and tape formulations, as well as control the tape saturation recovery time, enabling nuanced tape saturation effects rarely achievable in the digital domain.
Both plug-ins feature a library of presets that emulate renowned analog mixing systems, providing a starting point for various production styles. Real-time displays of saturation curves and calibrations help users visualize the effect on audio signals. With double precision processing and ultra-low latency performance, Analog Channel supports both mono and stereo formats, making it a powerful tool for adding character and depth to any mix.
