The V-4B is a faithful reissue of the iconic 1971 Ampeg bass amplifier, renowned for its all-tube design and robust 100-watt power amp. It captures the thick, warm tube tone and strong low-end presence that made the original a staple in bass rigs worldwide. This amp’s distinctive sound has been featured on numerous hit records, solidifying its place in music history.
Designed for ease of use, the V-4B offers straightforward controls including a 3-band EQ with switchable mid frequencies and ultra-low and ultra-high switches. These features allow musicians to sculpt their tone rapidly, whether they desire a deep, boomy sound or a punchy, gritty character. The simplicity of the interface helps users achieve a wide range of classic bass tones with minimal effort.
This digital version provides an exact emulation of the original hardware amp, enriched by 65 expertly crafted recording chains that combine classic microphones and boutique outboard gear through a Neve VXS72 console. Additional onboard effects include a noise gate, filter controls, power soak, and a horn function for the cabinets, enhancing flexibility and control in any recording or live setup.
