Acoustic Dhaak 2 is a meticulously crafted sample-based instrument featuring over 400 samples captured from three types of traditional Indian acoustic Dhaak drums and brass bells used during the Durga Puja festivals. The instrument offers six preset variations and incorporates three microphone positions to provide rich spatial detail. Its sound engine employs two velocity layers combined with a Round Robin algorithm to deliver natural and dynamic performances, making it an authentic representation of these cultural instruments.
This instrument provides a range of expressive features including a low cut EQ filter, drum pads mapped for low frequencies, and a tuning parameter to adjust pitch precisely. A new presets browser enhances workflow, while ADSR volume and pan controls, along with algorithmic reverb and level metering, allow for detailed sound shaping. Acoustic Dhaak 2 supports automation within most major digital audio workstations and is compatible with multiple plugin formats such as VST, VST3, and AU on both Windows and Mac platforms.
The full instrument requires purchasing the factory expansion, while a free player version is available for initial use. This setup ensures users can explore the instrument before fully committing. Acoustic Dhaak 2 is designed to bring the vibrant and rhythmic character of Indian traditional percussion into modern music production environments, offering both cultural authenticity and modern usability.
