The AcidBox is a bass line synthesizer designed to emulate the legendary TB-303, offering a fresh interface focused on real-time sequence creation and live performance tweaking. It features classic saw and square wave oscillators combined with a powerful low-pass filter that delivers the distinctive acid sound. The synthesizer includes an intuitive sequencer capable of handling up to 32 patterns with 1 to 64 steps each, allowing detailed control over notes, accents, slides, tuning, timing, and panning for every step.
Users can choose between four operational modes for flexible workflow: host sync mode locks the sequencer to the DAW's tempo, internal mode runs the sequencer independently, MIDI In mode allows the synth to respond like a virtual analog synth with slide effects, and ARP mode uses MIDI messages to trigger sequences. The AcidBox supports real-time pattern triggering via MIDI and offers synchronization options aligned to beats, bars, or free timing. It also allows live note insertion through MIDI input, including pitch bend control for slides.
Additional features include built-in distortion with five different units, a ping pong delay with feedback filtering, and extensive pattern management including copy, paste, randomize, import, and export capabilities in multiple formats. MIDI Out enables sending sequencer notes back to the host for further processing. The user interface is customizable with four size options and a dark mode. The AcidBox also offers adjustable randomization, making it a powerful tool for crafting authentic acid basslines and sequences.
