ABLM (AB Loudness Match) is a precise gain control plugin designed for level-matched and sample-accurate A/B comparisons of effects chains. It allows users to match loudness before and after applying effects, ensuring consistent volume levels during critical listening and mixing sessions. This capability is essential for making informed decisions about how processing affects the sound without being misled by volume differences.
The plugin offers three loudness match modes: manual, automatic, and gain stage, accommodating various workflow preferences. It supports up to 256 sender/receiver pairs with automatic channel set and link, enabling complex routing and comparison setups. ABLM features automatic latency measurement and compensation to maintain synchronization between A/B signals. Multiple measurement modes such as RMS, EBU R128, VU, and Max Peak provide flexibility in loudness evaluation, while adjustable RMS measurement windows and gain limits enhance precision.
ABLM includes user-friendly features like bypass, delta monitoring to hear differences between signals, global controls for activation and mode switching, and four snapshot slots for saving settings. Its efficient CPU usage and scalable, intuitive interface make it suitable for both studio and live environments. This plugin empowers producers and engineers to conduct accurate level-matched comparisons, improving the quality and objectivity of audio processing decisions.
