Ample Bass Acoustic is a meticulously sampled virtual instrument featuring the rich tones of a Guild B-54 CE Acoustic Bass. Its extensive 4.6 GB sample library captures every fret with natural recordings, preserving the authentic character of the instrument without any destructive editing or dynamic processing. The instrument offers eight articulations, including sustain, palm mute, natural harmonic, hammer on and pull off, legato slide, slide in and out, pop and slap, and dead note, allowing for expressive and realistic bass performances. Legato articulations support seamless transitions between notes with full control over duration, pitch, and polyphony, while alternate tuning options extend its range down to the low B0.
Designed with a new sample engine, Ample Bass Acoustic delivers a highly expressive playing experience by blending mic and direct input (DI) samples. This dual approach enables users to craft sounds that range from natural acoustic tones to electric bass textures. The separate mixing and processing of mic and DI signals provide extensive flexibility in shaping the bass sound. The instrument supports multiple stereo and mono mic modes, allowing adjustments to mic volume and stereo width for a wide variety of tonal possibilities. Its redesigned tab player accommodates all articulations and notation, offering realistic playback with humanization features and multiple capo logic options tailored for different playing styles.
The integrated Riffer tool enhances creativity by providing a String Roll Editor that visually represents fingering, articulation, expression, and playing noise with detailed note attributes such as pitch, velocity, length, and vibrato. The Dice feature generates new riffs by analyzing musical patterns, offering fresh inspiration without relying on random algorithms. Users can convert riffs seamlessly between MIDI, tab, and other formats, preserving all expressive details. Ample Bass Acoustic also includes a suite of high-quality effects, featuring an 8-band EQ with real-time spectrum visualization, a versatile compressor with RMS and peak detection, a 6-tap echo with individual tap controls, and IR reverb with multiple room simulations and 3D spectral display, enabling comprehensive sound shaping within the instrument.
