2WarpDelay is a unique stereo delay effect that combines two delay lines with warped lattice IIR filters to create rich, evolving sound textures. The plugin processes the input signal through a pair of delay lines followed by lattice filters whose coefficients are dynamically extracted from an image source. This innovative technique allows for highly customizable filtering, adapting the tonal character of the delayed signal in real time.
The lattice filters can be set to any order between 1 and 80, providing a wide range of filtering complexity. By adjusting the warping parameter, users can smoothly alter the filter’s frequency response, shaping the harmonic content and resonance of the delayed audio. The output then passes through saturation and ducking/limiting stages, which add warmth and dynamic control before the signal is fed back into the delay lines, creating rich feedback textures and depth.
Additional controls include resonance, which adjusts the spacing between the spectral peaks and valleys of the filter’s transfer function, and cutoff, which sets the cutoff frequency of a first-order low pass filter placed after the lattice filter. These parameters enable precise shaping of the tonal balance and timbral qualities of the delay effect, making 2WarpDelay a powerful tool for creative sound design and mixing applications.
