In the summer of 2012, Nathan Williams launched Sweet Valley with his brother Joel Magic Point Williams as a production team, moving away from the beach punk sound of Wavves. Collaborating with producer John Hill, they blended sun-soaked guitars and murky hip-hop beats, culminating in the release of their digital mixtape Stay Calm on Fool's Gold.
