My name is REYSSR. After a life-changing event, my family and I moved from the buzzing city of Zurich to the serenity of the Swiss mountains. I make Melodic and Progressive House with a trancy touch.
The song is called ‘Home’ and is a reference to the beautiful Swiss mountain place we live in. Driving, arpeggiated synths meet dreamy vocals. The music video features amazing drone shots of the winter landscape around our mountain house. Out January 2nd, 2026 on Dutch label Essentializm/Raz Nitzan Music.
I recall it was ‘Out of the Blue’ by System F (Ferry Corsten). I saw the music video on the German television station ‘Viva’. A few weeks later, I got myself my first (second-hand) synthesizer (a Yamaha CS-1x) and a copy of Logic Pro (I think it was version 4.6). I was 16 years old at that time. The money came from a factory job I did during my school holidays. That was back in 1999. Only in 2023 did I decide to no longer be a bedroom producer and to professionalize my art.
There are several. I have my roots in Trance, so it is mainly artists like AvB and Ferry Corsten. Sound-wise, I also draw inspiration from guys like Tinlicker and Lane 8. With regard to live sets, Stephan Bodzin, Jan Blomqvist, and Giuseppe Ottaviani are absolutely smashing it in my opinion. Doing music curation for my own monthly radio show ‘Summit Sessions’ also helps a lot with getting musical inspiration.
It really depends. Sometimes a melody comes to mind on the go, so I sing it into my iPhone’s voice memos and then turn it into a song in my studio. Other times I open a finished Ableton project and come up with a new drum or melody idea based on that existing project. I generally use reference tracks to avoid reinventing the wheel and to have a point of reference for the structure and the mix and master.
If you want to see your music become successful, make sure it sounds professional. To get there, attend courses like EDM Tips (which I did), which give you all the skills and knowledge you need within a time frame of weeks or months. Also, build yourself a network of other producers who critically listen to your music and suggest improvements. Don’t ask friends, they will always say it’s good even if it’s not. Also, think like an entrepreneur. Market yourself. You are the brand and the product.
